The clever design does not penalise a short drive from the tee, nor does it reward a booming drive which may have sliced to the right. You will be severely penalised if you hit a good length drive but have foolishly hooked to the left.

In summary, a straight forward hole rewarding a straight drive. Oh! The green! We almost forgot! Sand bunkers guarding the left and the right of the green, the river at the back and a wonderful pot bunker back right will catch that over exuberent long iron to the green. Hey, if we hadn't built that bunker, you might have been in the river and that water is wet! A large green makes for a varied selection of pin placements.
